Green Smoothie Recipe


I mentioned this green smoothie in my June Favourites (which you can watch HERE if you’d like) so I thought I’d create a post on it so that you can refer back to here at any time. 

I keep trying my best to be healthy, but what doesn’t help is when something healthy tastes disgusting. I’d much rather eat one of my favourite Triple Chocolate Cookies. So I keep trying out different smoothies to find out which tastes best – and here’s one I enjoyed: 

First off pick a fruit juice base, preferably ‘not from concentrate’ as this makes it more fresh.

I chose this one because I wanted to create a green smoothie. 

Then pick what’s to go into your smoothie: 

Spinach: Dark leafy greens like spinach are important for skin and hair, bone health, and provide protein, iron, vitamins and minerals.

Cucumber: Cucumbers are good sources of phytonutrients (plant chemicals that have protective or disease preventive properties) such flavonoids, lignans and triterpenes, which have antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer benefits, according to World’s Healthiest Foods. 

Lime: The health benefits of lime include weight loss, skin care, improved digestion, relief from constipation, eye care, and more. 

The lime (juice of half a lime) I find sweetens the smoothie and cancels out the quite bitter taste of the spinach.

The amount of contents to put into the smoothie depends on how much you want to make.
