Creme Egg Brownies

Creme Egg Brownies

Cadbury Creme Eggs have to be one of my favourite things about Easter. This year I had quite a few and decided to use some of my extras in some baking - therefore making these Cadbury Creme Egg brownies.

Ingredients:

- 185g unsalted butter
- 185g best dark chocolate (at least 75% cocoa)
- 85g plain flour
- 40g cocoa powder
- 3 large eggs
- 275g golden caster sugar
- 6 Cadburys Creme Eggs (cut in half)

Method:

1) Preheat the oven to 160c and grease a 20cm square baking tin.

2) Melt the butter and dark chocolate together either in the microwave or in a bowl over hot water.

3) Break 3 large eggs into a large bowl and tip in 275g of golden caster sugar. With an electric mixer on maximum speed, whisk the eggs and sugar until they look thick and creamy, like a milkshake! This can take 3-8 minutes. TIP, you'll know its ready when the mixture becomes pale and about double it's original volume.

4) Pour the cooled chocolate mixture over the eggy mousse, then gently fold together. TIP: Make sure your chocolate mixture is at least luke warm, or cooler. If the chocolate mixture is too hot it will cook the eggs!

5) Hold a sieve over the bowl of eggy chocolate mixture and sift the cocoa and flour mixture, shaking the sieve from side to side, to cover the top evenly. Gently, fold in the mixture.

6) Pour into the baking tin and cook for 15 minutes then take it our of the oven and gently press the Cadbury's Crème Egg halves into the mix spacing them apart evenly. Put back in the oven for another 5-10 minutes.

7) Leave to cool before removing from the tin and cutting. I found these brownies taste amazing warmed up and served with vanilla ice cream!

LUSH Spring Haul

For Christmas I received two LUSH vouchers, so I thought it was about time I spent them!

I love LUSH, however whenever I usually pop into the store I only come out with my favourite products and never branch out trying new things. However, with my vouchers I was determined to only purchase and try new things (apart from my favourite bath melt that I just could not resist!) and I thought I'd share what I bought.

I also uploaded this haul onto my YouTube channel! Please subscribe to catch my up-comings uploads!

1) Blackberry Bath Bomb

£3.50

Infused with bergamot and frankincense oils, this bath bomb is perfect for releasing tension and relaxing after a long day.

Bergamot is used in aromatherapy for anxiety, depression and nervous tension, and is both relaxing and uplifting as well as antibacterial.

2) Sunnyside Bubble Bar

£4.95

Bubble bars are great because you can break them up and use a little at a time to add bubbles to your bath. I can't wait to try out this gold glittery bar.

3) Which Came First? Bath Bomb (spotty)

£6.95
A nice twist on 'which came first?' the egg or the chicken. This is the spotty version of the Spring special (also available with stripes). With a pink outer shell and yellow spots, this egg also has a bright yellow centre - just like an egg yolk!

Infused with Sicilian lemon, grapefruit and vanilla.

4) The Comforter - Shower Cream

£9.95 250g (there are 3 other sizes available - 100g 500g and 1kg)

Stepping out of the comfort zone of bath products, I picked up this shower cream.

Smelling of blackcurrant, this shower cream would not suit those who don't like sickly sweet smells. Containing almond oil, the cream provides moisture and the bergamot oil provides uplifting and cleansing. Can we also just appreciate the bright pink colour!

5) Ups - A - Daisy Bath Bomb

£3.50
I love how colourful this bath bomb is! Double sided, with four different colours, this bath bomb also contains an orange oil which smells amazing. Soothing rosewood, delicate rose and the orange oil makes a smell which is both fruity and floral.

6) MMMelting Marshmallow Moment Bath Melt

£2.25
This little product is definitely one of my all time favourites. It smells INCREDIBLE (again, only if you like sickly sweet smells!) Containing marshmallow and marigold powders, coconut oil and almond oil, topped off with being bright yellow and pink with glitter, I don't think it can get much better than that!
