Bright Red Coat | OOTD

Red Coat? -A? Pretty Little Liars?

In dull and rainy February, it's great to own a bright colourful coat. My favourite way to wear this coat is with an all black outfit as it helps bring out the pop of colour.

My coat is from Marks and Spencer. As it's a lightweight coat and is only shower proof, it's not the best for warmth and heavy rain but it's perfect all year round as long as in winter you wear a jumper underneath!

When I take off my coat I look like the newest member of MI5 but at the same time I think it looks pretty cool.

Top: Brandy Melville
Jeans: Topshop

As I'm wearing  all black I have broken up the outfit with a gold buckled belt from H&M and of course I am wearing my necklace that Joe bought me for my Birthday last year. On my lips I'm wearing a lipstick from Clinique in the shade 'Rebel Pop'.

For footwear I am wearing my Doc Martins for an edgy look.

I hope you enjoyed this little OOTD post!

It's been a while since I last filmed a YouTube video but I'm back! I thought I'd kick things off with one of my favourite kind of videos that I like to watch, a haul!

I'd be super grateful if you checked out the video: WATCH HERE!

Estee Lauder Blush

My first ever purchase from Estee Lauder is this gorgeous Pure Colour Blush in the shade Sensuous Rose. I've never purchased anything from Estee Lauder (I've always been a fan of drug store cheaper products!) so I never thought spending more money on something such as a blush would be worth it...but I am really liking this product!

First of all I am in love with the gold packaging, it adds to the quality and beauty of this product. However it does leave mucky fingerprints so apologies for not properly cleaning the case before taking photos!

This satin pure colour blush is in the shade Sensuous Rose (11).

The packaging has actually changed since I purchased this but the shade is still available:

£29.00 Click Here!

Since purchasing this blusher I have been using it almost everyday thanks to it being such a versatile and everyday colour. It applies beautifully and leaves a plumy pinky glow to your cheeks. Included with the blush is a super soft contouring brush, along with a large mirror, both handy for travelling.

Now that I'm loving this blush it makes me want to purchase and try more Estee Lauder products, do you have any that you could recommend?

To My Joe.

To my Joe,

PDA is not our cup of tea but I wanted to write you a note in a different format to the ones I have already written you. This blog documents all my materialistic loves and showcases a few aspects of my life and my god you are by far my biggest real love and a huge part of my life.

As I write this, I’m on the train home after spending the weekend with yourself down in Plymouth celebrating your 22nd Birthday. Being able to see you after spending weeks apart is the most incredible feeling. I would wait years if it could mean I could spend just a day in your company. My mum tagged me in a post this weekend which means a lot:

“Distance is not for the fearful, it is for the bold.
It’s for those who are willing to spend a lot of time alone in exchange for a little time with the one they love.
It’s for those who know a good thing when they see it, even if they don’t see it nearly enough”
-        Meghan Dawn

For over a year now you have given me nothing but endless love and support. Every moment we spend together I fall further in love with you and I can only imagine continuously falling for many years to come.  You are the most genuine, kind and incredible guy I could have ever met. You have not only shown me what it’s like to fall in love with yourself but you have supported me in my growth of loving myself.

You are not only my boyfriend but a best friend and for everything in between, I thank you.

I love you.

Protein Packed Milkshake

One thing that needs to be remembered when it comes to eating healthy is that the food doesn't need to taste disgusting. When I've tried protein shakes in the past I've been put off by the artificial flavours and therefore over time I have created my own favourite protein concoction and today I'm going to share it with you lovely people! Of course, please note that I am no expert!

6 simple ingredients that can be tweaked to meet individual needs:

1) 400-500ml of your chosen milk. Whether that be regular milk, almond milk or coconut milk, you can go with whichever you prefer. The quantity of 400-500ml depends on how thick you want your shake to be (less milk, more thick the drink).

2) Two teaspoons of your chosen protein powder. Today I have used this Soya Protein from Holland and Barrett which is £6.99 for 250g Click Here. I use this powder as it has no flavourings and can therefore be added alongside any of my chosen protein shake contents. Of course you can use the protein which suits you best.

Soya Protein Benefits:

Soya Protein Isolate is a great source of complete protein for vegetarians and vegans as it contains high levels of all the essential amino acids, and is the vegetable protein closest to meat in terms of its amino acid content.

- Soya Protein Isolate contains 90% and is therefore a convenient way to boost your daily protein intake.

3) 1 ripe banana (I'm sure you know what a banana looks like so I won't insert a photo haha!)

4) 1 heaped teaspoon of peanut butter. Peanut butter adds flavour and goodness, I purchased mine from Asda for only £2.58 - Suitable for Vegans, Suitable for Vegetarians and No Added Sugar - Click Here.

Benefits of Peanut Butter:

- High in Valuable Nutrition - Peanut butter has protein as well as potassium — which lowers the risk of high blood pressure, stroke and heart disease. It also contains fibre for your bowel health, healthy fats, magnesium to fortify your bones and muscles, Vitamin E and antioxidants.

- Suppresses Hunger For Weight Loss - Eating peanuts and peanut butter helps control hunger without leading to weight gain.

Learn more about the health benefits of peanut butter here!

5) Maca Powder - 1 teaspoon - Naturya is one of my favourite brands in terms of trying out new super foods. When I first bought this Maca Powder I wasn't entirely sure what to eat it with as it's got a very distinctive and unusual taste, however it goes perfectly in this smoothie alongside the banana and peanut butter. You can leave out the maca powder if you don't own or want to purchase it.

£19.99 for 300g at Holland and Barrett Click Here.

Maca Powder Benefits:

Contains vitamin B6, calcium & iron
- High in riboflavin, zinc & fibre
- Source of thiamin and protein

6) Seeds - 1 heaped tablespoon.

It's safe to say that you can't go wrong by eating seeds as they're full of goodness but I'm sure you'll agree with me in saying that it's not fun or even tasty trying to eat them on their own, that's why adding them to your smoothie is a great idea!

That is everything that goes into this delicious, healthy, protein packed smoothie! Let me know if you try giving it a go and if you have any favourite smoothie recipes?

Healthy can still be tasty, you just need to tweek the ingredients to suit you.

Next Nail Polish

I have to admit, for ages I have been eyeing up the nail varnishes in Next and not purchased them because I always end up sticking with my well loved Barry M polishes, however last weekend I finally gave in a thought 'why not give them a go?'...

Next nail polishes

This gorgeous pink shade was my first choice pick and I then went on to choose a further two shades in order to qualify for the 3 for 2 offer (logic, right?) 3 polishes for £8 is a pretty good deal!

Next nail polish 'well jel

'Well Jel' is this amazing pink glitter shade that is a matte finish. However, if you want to, you can apply a clear coating of polish over the top to make the varnish shiny - this is what I have done to my nails but it's great to have the option to keep your nails matte.

Next nail polish

The best thing about this nail polish? It's easy to remove! With most glitter polishes I really struggle to take it off using nail varnish remover but this stuff comes off much easier *praises the varnish gods*

According To Abi

A little lesson learnt by me to try new products because you never know how much you may end up loving them!
