Beauty Bay Haul

Recently I had a mini splurge on some items that I'd been eyeing up for a while. Although these products can be picked up individually from each brand's website, I purchased these from Beauty Bay which is a great website for finding all of the best beauty brands in one place. I thought I'd show you what I purchased!

Where: Beauty Bay

1) Zoeva - Rose Gold Complete Eye Set

Link: Click Here
Price: £65.00

I've had these brushes a few weeks now and I must say that I love them! They're great at blending shadow and come with such a range of brushes that I highly doubt that I'm going to need to buy another eye brush for a LONG time. Can we also just take a moment to appreciate the rose gold appearance?

2) Anastasia Beverly Hills - Dipbrow Pomade

Link: Click Here
Price: £15.00

The hype around this product has been massive for around about a year now, so I thought it was about time that I gave it a go. In terms of the formula, it's super easy to apply and you are able to shape your eyebrows precisely, however it can be hard to make it look natural. Similarly, as you are purchasing it online, it's hard to guess what shade will suit you best. However, I'd definitely recommend this product!

3) Makeup Geek - Foiled Eyeshadow Pan

Link: Click Here
Price: £7.95

I've actually written a blog post about this shadow already which you can check out HERE!

I hope you enjoyed this mini haul!

Millionaire Shortbread

Millionaire Shortbread has to be one of my favourite sweet products ever! This recipe is super easy and the result super yummy.

Ingredients:

For the shortbread:
250g or 1 3/4 cups of plain flour
75g or 3/8 cup of caster sugar
175g or 3/4 cup butter, softened

For the caramel:
100g or 1/2 cup butter
100g or 1/2 cup, light muscavado sugar
2 X 397g cans condensed milk

For the topping:
200g plain or milk chocolate, broken into pieces

Method:

1) Pre-heat the oven to 180'C/Gas mark 4. Lightly grease a 13 x 9inch (33x23cm) Swiss roll tin.

2) To make the shortbread, mix the flour and caster sugar in a bowl. Rub in the butter until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs. Knead the mixture together until it forms a dough, then press into the base of the prepared tin. Prick the shortbread lightly with a fork and bake in the pre-heated oven for about 20 minutes or until firm to the touch and very lightly browned. Cool in the tin.

3) To make the caramel, measure the butter, sugar and condensed milk into a pan and heat gently until the sugar has dissolved. Bring to the boil, stirring all the time, then reduce the heat and simmer very gently, stirring continuously, for about 5 minutes or until the mixture has thickened slightly. Pour over the shortbread and leave to cool.

4) For the topping, melt the chocolate slowly in a bowl over a pan of hot water. Pour over the cold caramel and leave to set. Cut into squares or bars.

I hope you enjoy this as much as I do!

Bourjois - Velvet Lipstick

Is it just me or has everyone been going wild over matte lip products recently?

I'm not someone to reach for a lipstick - most of the time I completely forget to apply anything to my lips when I do my makeup. However, if I do apply something, it's most likely going to be a subtle shade. One product that I purchased recently is the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipstick....

Name: Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipstick
Price: £8.99
Where: Boots.com

Pros:

- Price: The price of this product is really good, especially compared to other substitutes around.
- Range: There are currently 17 shades to choose from on the Boots website.
- Size: It's the perfect size for a small handbag and won't take up much room!
- Texture: This lipstick surprisingly isn't drying on my lips and doesn't leave that cackey cracked look.

Cons:

- Staying power: You're going to have to keep on re-applying this! I ate some chocolate and half of the product came off my lips.

Would you repurchase this product? - YES

Do you have a favourite brand of lipstick or liquid lipstick? I'd love to try some more.
