Limited Collection Eyeshadow Palette

Hey!

A few weeks ago I was looking around the Marks&Spencer beauty section and the Nikki Strange range (bit of a mouthful) in partnership with Limited Collection caught my eye. The packaging screams spring/summer which is super pretty, and the 14 shades of eye shadow are right up my street. I've been looking for a new palette for a while now, so I was a very happy bunny when I saw this combination of browns, pinks and a couple of extras - some matte some shimmery. The most amazing thing? It was only £10!

Fudge & Banana Muffin Recipe

Hey!

My cake addiction is getting worse and worse, I've now begun a routine of uploading a baking recipe every Sunday - followed by a beauty review on a Wednesday! I hope you all like that idea :)

These fudge and banana muffins are perfect if you sweet tooth isn't massive but you are after something a little more than a plain cake mixture. Follow these easy 7 steps and you'll have yourself (approximately) 12 muffins (dependant on your muffin case sizes)!

You will need:

  • 1x 12 hole muffin tray
  • 12 paper cases

Ingredients:

  • 250g self-raising flour
  • 1 Teaspoon baking powder
  • 100g soft light brown sugar
  • 100g fudge
  • 75g butter
  • 125ml milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 2 medium ripe bananas
  • 2 medium eggs
  • 2 tablespoons of clear honey (optional for glazing)

Directions:

  1. Heat the oven to 190 degrees C, 375 degrees F, gas mark 5. Put paper cases into each hole in a muffin tray. Sift the flour and baking powder together in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Put the fudge on a chopping board and cut it into chunks (make sure the chunks aren't too small or they'll disappear once cooked). Add the sugar and fudge to the bowl and stir them in. Make a hollow in the middle of the mixture.
  3. Put the butter into a saucepan and heat gently over a low heat until the butter has melted. Remove the pan from the heat and add the milk and vanilla essence.
  4. Peel the bananas and put them into a small bowl - mash them with a fork until they are fairly smooth. Break the eggs into another bowl and beat them with a fork/whisk.
  5. Add the bananas and beaten eggs to the mixture in the pan - stir them in. Then, pour the mixture into the hollow in the dry ingredients.
  6. Stir everything with a wooden spoon - the mixture will still look quite lumpy. Then, spoon it into the paper cases. Fill each paper case almost to the top.
  7. Bake the muffins for 20 minutes until they are firm and well-risen. Keep them in the tray for 5 minutes and brush the tops with honey. Further, leave them to a cooling on a wire rack (or eat them still warm like I like to ;))
ENJOY!

Sleek Contouring and Blush Palette Review

Hey Lovelies!

All aboard the contouring wagon! A couple of weeks ago I spent about half an hour in Boots looking at a loads of different contouring palettes and finally settled on this Sleek, Face Form trio.

I have a pale complexion and therefore picked up 'Fair 372' however - light, medium and dark are also available. Face Form in Fair and Light come with contour powder, highlighter and blush. Whereas, Face Form in Medium and Dark come available with contour powder, highlighter and a bronzer.

To achieve great cheek definition, using a small contour brush, apply the contour powder, starting from the ear and gently blending towards the direction of your mouth, building definition as desired and blending as you to go, to ensure all lines are soft.

I am really liking this palette as the result appears natural and subtle - though if wanted you could always build up layers. If you do a lot of travelling, or like taking products around with you this trio is perfect especially with the large mirror and 'sleek' design.

Price? £9.99

Loaded M&M Oreo Cookie Bars

Quick and easy to bake and absolutely deeeeeelicious! Do you like M&M's/Smarties, Oreo, and cookies? Then this recipe is perfect! Even if you don't enjoy these ingredients, or don't have them in your kitchen, you can easily use alternative biscuits and chocolates.

The bars come together in 1 bowl, without a mixer, in 5 minutes, and are ready in under a half hour!

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup / 110g - unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup / 170g - light brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup / 140g -  plain flour
  • 18 Oreo Cookies, coarsely chopped
  • About 1/2 cup / 75g -  M&M's/Smarties

Directions:

  1.  Preheat oven to 350F / 180C. Line an 8-by-8-inch baking pan with parchment paper
  2. In a large, microwave-safe bowl melt the butter, about 1 minute on high power.
  3. Wait momentarily before adding the egg so you don't scramble it. Add the egg, brown sugar, vanilla, and whisk until smooth.
  4. Add the flour and stir until just combined, don't overmix.
  5. Stir in the oreos
  6. Turn batter out into prepared pan, smoothing the top lightly with a spatula.
  7. Evenly sprinkle the M&Ms over the top, lightly pressing them down with your finger or a spatula.
  8. Bake for about 20 to 22 minutes, or until done based on add-ins used. Top should be set and edges slightly firm.
  9. Allow bars to cool for at least 30 minutes before slicing and serving.
I really hope you all enjoy these bars as much as I do - they don't last 2 days in my house!

Love,
Abi
