♥ Fine Art - A Piece Of Mine ♥

Hello Lovelies!

One subject I am currently heaving myself through coursework with for college is Fine Art. Being given the word "Concealed" I have begun studying people concealing their emotions. On this piece I have used watercolour paints. Continue reading to watch how I achieved the outcome above!

Starting with a light sketch of the eyes, then painting the key features.

I began using black, this was a risk but I wanted to make the eyes dramatic because they are the key focus.

Keeping the paper and my paintbrush damp I have begun adding colour.

That eye looks a bit scary haha. Keeping my page vertical, I let the paint run - resembling tears.

Done!

Okay so I know people don't cry rainbow tears, however as you know when you cry there are many emotions running through your mind (I'm hoping I'm not the only one otherwise I'm probably sounding stupid). Bellow is a colour wheel that shows how different colours apparently describe emotions...

I hope you liked this Art post, It's something different and art is a passion of mine :-)

What's your favourite subject if you're at school or college? If you've left, what do you like to do in your spare time?

Hope you're all well!

♥ Easter Holiday ♥

Hello Lovelies!

On Sunday evening, I returned home after having a lovely week away with family in Stroud, Gloucestershire. Now having to catch up on College work - I wanted to quickly put together this post to sum up the week in pictures and a few words.

Leading up to the Easter weekend, we visited many small country towns. These consisted of mainly Specialist shops, Cafe's and Charity shops - in which I raided of everything I 'fell in love' with.

How adorable are these little meringue chicks though!?

The weather forecast for Easter Sunday informed us that heavy rain was on it's way, so we decided to egg roll, egg hunt and go out for a picnic on the Saturday. We all wrapped up warm (a few of us looking like we're ready for a ski holiday) and sat at the top of a hill, digging into - it felt like - an endless supply of sandwiches and cake. YUM.

"Say EASTER BUNNY!"

I love how this photo catches everyone's reaction to my Dad's egg 'rolling' skills. In fact, it hit the ground and smashed into many segments.

Plenty of sausages, burgers, ribs, salmon, chicken, salad, potatoes more to go around - how about strawberries, chocolate and marshmallows (roasted over the fire pit) to finish? Wait a minute, there's a cheese board!

"Family's grow, some grow up
and some grow old.
some may move away only to return
on holidays.
But no matter how big they grow,
Or how old they get, or how far they
move away.
Family will always stay
Family"

I hope you all had a lovely Easter
What did you get up to? :-)

LEAP YEAR - If you haven't watched it, you need to! ((that's if you like romantic comedies)) It's so sweet and never fails to make me smile.

15. Favourite TV show?
I'm not someone who sits down, e.g every Tuesday night at 6pm to watch a certain show. I usually go online, find a show and watch the series through thoroughly day after day until its over, then move on hahah.

22. Do you wear the same style everyday, or do you change it?
Hair style or fashion style???

My hair I usually just leave down...
My clothes vary all the time, from black "oooo look at me in my biker jacket and black skinny jeans"
to "feeling girly and flirty, *twirls in a dress*"

23. How long does it take you to put on makeup?
On a normal day, probably 10-15 minutes
Depends whether I decide to put on liquid eyeliner.....that could take me up to 4 days to get perfect.

24. What do you do first? Face or eyes?
Face - might try it the other way around later though.

25. Do you collect makeup or just buy what you need when you need it?
I don't intend on collecting anything specific, but if I hear a good recommendation or generally fancy trying something I haven't before then I will more than likely get it.

26. How often do you wear false eyelashes?
I've never worn them before...
I just get worried I'll put them on and they'll fall off while I'm out!
((Imagine talking to a gorgeous guy and your false eyelash falling off though))

Nope, sometimes I purely can't be bothered. I just try to make myself look awake and presentable haha.

29. How many high-end products do you have?
I own a few MAC products but that's about it. I agree with Sammeh "I can't justify buying a eyeshadow for £30 when I can probably buy about 6 for that."

30. Do you plan your OOTD every night or decide when you are getting dressed?
Depends if its a special occasion. Sometimes I get really into what I'm going to wear the next day, I can't wait to do my make up and feel fab. But sometimes I just chuck on leggings and a jumper haha.

I'd say every couple of months, I have a handbag fetish but I can't bring myself to spend all of my money on a handbag!

32. What time do you wake up and go to sleep?
On a college night 10:45pm + 7:15am
Even on a Saturday I need to get up at 6:30 to get ready and get to work :(

I check it everyday. However I tend to use Bloglovin more to look at other posts.

I read all the comments posted on my blog, even though that isn't many - I love hearing from you guys!

I usually go off memory. I'm not good at remembering revision notes - but makeup items I'm a pro at!

36. How did you come up with your blog name?
All of my posts are based on my opinion, so "According to Abi" seemed appropriate, if that makes sense?

37. What kind of camera do you use for your photographs?
I just use a Lumix small camera, its nothing amazing but it gets the job done.

38. What is your favourite drugstore/high end makeup brand?
I'll have to go with Maybelline, purely for the mascara. (mascara is a must have for me)

39. What are you doing with the rest of your day?
I am currently lounging around in trackies and a jumper..(it's 12:05 midday when I'm writing this) I've got some homework to do, but I'm going to get dressed and hopefully take some photos for another OOTD or should I say OOTA (outfit of the afternoon hahah) Then I'm off out to a friends for a meal :-)

If you have managed to read through all of this then give yourself a pat on the back, it was a bit long winded.
If you have any similar interests or any recommendations, I'd love to hear!

Also, If you decide to do this tag yourself, leave the link bellow and I'll be sure to check it out :-)

Have a nice day, xo

♥ Healthy Breakfast Idea ♥

Hello Lovelies!

So recently I've been trying to eat healthier, and that includes eating breakfast (which I sometimes avoid before college) This breakfast fills me up, it's yummy and healthy! You can twist what I have included, with your own likes!

I like to put my cereal in this large mug/small bowl, as it has a handle and I can carry it around while packing my college bag haha

First I pick a yogurt out of the fridge, I am enjoying these Fat Free Greek yogurts at the moment. I only have half the pot per serving though, and save the other half for a snack or to be used for breakfast the next day!

I then add a handful of granola, which is really yummy!

Next adding a few grapes and blueberries (or maybe a banana)

To finish I have drizzled some delicious raspberry coulis over the top, this is really sharp but mixed in adds great flavour!

 Enjoy!

What do you like to eat for breakfast? :-)

♥ Double chocolate loaf cake ♥

Hello Lovelies!

Chocolate and cake are two of our favourite things, so what's not to love about this indulgent cake?

Ingredients

175g softened butter, plus extra for greasing
175g golden caster sugar
3 eggs
140g self-raising flour
85g ground almonds
½ tsp baking powder
100ml milk
4 tbsp cocoa powder
50g plain chocolate chips or chunks
few extra chunks white, plain and milk chocolate, for decorating

1) Heat oven to 160C/140C fan/gas 3.
Grease and line a 2lb/900g loaf tin with a long strip of baking parchment.

2) To make the loaf cake batter, beat the butter and sugar with an electric whisk until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs, flour, almonds, baking powder, milk and cocoa until smooth.

3) Stir in the chocolate chips, then scrape into the tin. Bake for 45-50 mins until golden, risen and a skewer poked in the centre comes out clean

Cool in the tin, then lift out onto a wire rack over some kitchen paper. Melt the extra chocolate chunks separately in pans over barely simmering water, or in bowls in the microwave, then use a spoon to drizzle each in turn over the cake. Leave to set before slicing.

Enjoy!

If you try this recipe out I'd love to hear how you found the outcome!
Would you like to hear of some of my other favourite recipes?

Hope you're all well :-) xo

♥ OOTD : Spring Is Coming ♥

Hello Lovelies!

The weather in England is very temperamental, and as it may be Spring, it's still not very warm here (as I am writing this, it's raining outside.) However, on Sunday we were lucky enough to have a visit from the sun!

It wasn't warm enough to put on shorts or a skirt, BUT I got to leave the house without a jacket and wearing sunglasses!

If you're going to be in the photo, you could at least face the camera, Willow

Sunglasses - Urban Outfitters

Bag- Dorothy Perkins

Top - Primark

I love the gold buttons that go down the back!

Shoes - Some shoe shop in Brighton, I don't know the name hahah

I hope you liked this post, something I haven't done before!
Would you like to see some more outfit ideas? Or what else would you like me to do? I'd love to hear from you :-)
